Hydra Pet in Grow a Garden: Ability, Rarity and How to Get It

By Jordan Lee ยท Pet Mechanics Specialist ยท Updated ยท Last verified October 28, 2026

The Hydra is a Divine pet in Grow a Garden that comes from the Season Pass, not from an egg. On a timer it ages itself up, fully hatches an egg and applies the Terran mutation to a fruit. A second ability spreads mutations when you sell Terran fruit.

What Is the Hydra Pet in Grow a Garden?

Grow a Garden is a Roblox farming game. Pets are companions you hatch, buy or earn. The Hydra here is the Roblox pet, not the mythical animal. It is a Divine pet, which is a rarity label.

The Hydra was added with the Safari Harvest update on November 1, 2025. It comes from the Season Pass, so you cannot hatch it from an egg.

Hydra Abilities: Three-Headed and Earth Deity

The Hydra has two abilities. Three-Headed runs on a timer. Earth Deity reacts when you sell fruit. The Hydra cannot be mimicked or refreshed, so copy and cooldown pets cannot repeat Three-Headed. For other pet abilities, see Pet Abilities.

Earth DeityWhen you sell a Terran-mutated fruit, there is a chance a random mutation from that fruit is applied to a fruit in your garden.Chance range is in the numbers table.

Hydra Cooldown and Chance Numbers

Two guides give ranges for the Hydra. They agree on the longest wait and the chance. They disagree on the shortest wait, so that value is PENDING.

How to Get the Hydra Pet

The Hydra is a Season Pass reward. It does not drop from any egg, so the Hatching Guide will not help you here. Follow these steps.

  1. Open the Season Pass screen. Open the Season Pass from the game menu. The Hydra is a Season Pass reward and does not drop from eggs.
  2. Find the Hydra reward. Look through the pass rewards for the Hydra. The tier is PENDING because only one guide names a tier.
  3. Claim it. Claim the reward when your pass progress reaches it, if the reward is still on the track.
  4. Check your backpack. Open your pets to confirm the Hydra is there, then place it in your garden.

Can You Still Get the Hydra?

Guides disagree on whether the Hydra is still on the pass. Open the Event Calendar and the pass rewards screen in game before you plan around it.

What each guide says about Hydra availability

Mitch CactusSays the Hydra was still obtainable as of February 2026.
rblxguideSays it was available mainly through trading after the Safari Harvest event.

Current availability is PENDING. No two guides agree on today. If you cannot earn it, trading is the other route.

Hydra and the Terran Mutation

Terran is the mutation Three-Headed applies to a fruit. When you sell a Terran fruit, Earth Deity can copy a random mutation from it onto a fruit in your garden. The Terran multiplier is PENDING. For confirmed mutations, see the Mutations hub.

Hydra Pet FAQ

1

What does the Hydra pet do in Grow a Garden?

The Hydra pet in Grow a Garden has two abilities. Three-Headed ages the Hydra up by one, fully hatches an egg and applies the Terran mutation to a fruit. Earth Deity gives a chance to copy a random mutation onto a garden fruit when you sell Terran-mutated fruit.

2

How do you get the Hydra in Grow a Garden?

The Hydra comes from the Season Pass in Grow a Garden, not from any egg. It arrived with the Safari Harvest update on November 1, 2025. Guides disagree on whether you can still earn it, so check the pass rewards screen in game before you plan around it.

3

What rarity is the Hydra in Grow a Garden?

The Hydra is Divine rarity in Grow a Garden, according to Pocket Tactics, Bloxodes and two other guides. The older GAGdata pet database stores it as Legendary from an egg, an entry with no outside source. Treat that label as a conflict, and mark it PENDING until an in-game check settles it.

4

What does the Terran mutation do in Grow a Garden?

Terran is the mutation the Hydra applies to a fruit when Three-Headed runs. Guides name it but no multiplier is confirmed by two sources, so the Terran value is PENDING on this page. The Hydra's second ability then reacts when you sell a fruit that carries Terran.

5

How often does the Hydra ability run?

The Hydra's Three-Headed ability runs about every 41 minutes at the longest, per the Grow a Garden Calculator wiki and Roonby. The wiki says the wait shortens as the pet gains weight, down to 23 minutes 10 seconds, but Roonby says 20 minutes. The shortest wait is PENDING.

6

Can the Hydra be mimicked or refreshed in Grow a Garden?

The Hydra cannot be mimicked or refreshed in Grow a Garden, per the Grow a Garden Calculator wiki and rblxguide. Pets that copy abilities, such as the Mimic Octopus, or reset cooldowns, such as the Queen Bee, cannot repeat its Three-Headed ability.

7

How much is the Hydra worth in Grow a Garden?

The Hydra's trade value is PENDING on GAGdata. No two live sources give a dated value, and the older database range has no outside source. Open the Pet Values page for dated numbers before you trade, and treat any figure without a date as an estimate.

8

Is the Hydra in Grow a Garden 2?

This page covers the original Grow a Garden only. Grow a Garden 2 launched on June 12, 2026 as a separate Roblox game, and no progress carries over, per the GAGdata events data. Whether the Hydra exists in Grow a Garden 2 is PENDING.
