Mutation Tier List — Best Mutations Ranked by Value [2026]

Voidtouched tops the Grow a Garden mutation tier list at 135x multiplier — the highest in the game. S-Tier mutations (Voidtouched 135x, Disco 125x, Celestial 120x) deliver 10–13.5× more Sheckles than A-Tier mutations when stacked. Use this tier list to prioritise which mutation to farm, trade for, or combine first.
Definitions on this page
- Mutation
- A random status effect applied to a harvested crop that multiplies its base Sheckle value by a fixed amount.
- Tier List
- A ranked classification system grouping mutations into S/A/B/C/D tiers by their Sheckle multiplier value.
- Sheckles
- The primary in-game currency of Grow a Garden. All multipliers on this page are applied to a crop's base Sheckle value.
- Stacking
- Applying two or more mutations to a single crop. Multipliers compound multiplicatively (×, not +).
- S-Tier
- Mutations with 120x multiplier or higher. Currently: Voidtouched 135x, Disco 125x, Celestial 120x.
What is a Grow a Garden Mutation Tier List?
A mutation tier list in Grow a Garden ranks all mutations by their Sheckle multiplier value — from S-Tier (the highest, 120x and above) to D-Tier (below 5x). The tier system exists because mutations vary dramatically in impact: a single S-Tier mutation (Voidtouched, 135x) produces 27 times more output than a C-Tier mutation (Bloom, 5x) on the same crop.
Tier lists are also used as a common language in Grow a Garden trading — when a player says they have an "A-Tier crop", it means the crop carries a mutation with a 50–119x multiplier. Understanding the tiers helps you evaluate trade offers, plan which mutations to farm during Blood Moon events, and decide which combinations to stack first.
120x and above
50x – 119x
20x – 49x
5x – 19x
Below 5x
How tier boundaries are determined: Tier thresholds are set by verified in-game multiplier data, not by community votes. S-Tier (120x+) represents mutations that are 10× or more valuable than a standard unharvested crop. A-Tier (50–119x) covers the mid-Legendary range. B-Tier (20–49x) covers Epic-rarity mutations with strong stacking potential. C-Tier (5–19x) covers Rare and Uncommon mutations useful for entry-level stacking. D-Tier (below 5x) includes mutations not yet confirmed in the current game version.
S-Tier Mutations — 120x and above
3 mutations in this tier
S-Tier mutations are the most powerful in Grow a Garden — all have multipliers of 120x or above. Landing an S-Tier mutation on a high base-value crop (Dragonfruit, Starfruit, Moonflower) produces enough Sheckles to fund dozens of mid-tier equipment upgrades. S-Tier mutations are stackable with each other and with A-Tier mutations for the highest combined outputs in the game. The S+S benchmark is Voidtouched × Celestial = 16,200x.
Voidtouched
Rarest obtainable mutation in Grow a Garden. Drops exclusively from Divine-tier and above crops. At 135x, one Voidtouched crop equals 135 unharvested base crops.
Disco
Prismatic multicolour visual effect. 125x multiplier makes Disco the second-highest mutation in the game. Drops from Legendary+ crops during specific server events.
Celestial
Highest standard drop-based mutation in Grow a Garden — standard meaning it drops via normal farming without needing a special weather event (unlike Blood Moon or Solar Eclipse event-specific mutations). Star-particle visual. Drops from Legendary+ crops during clear weather. Celestial (120x) stacked with Voidtouched (135x) produces 16,200x combined (135 × 120 = 16,200).
A-Tier Mutations — 50x – 119x
3 mutations in this tier
A-Tier mutations (50x–119x) offer the best balance of value and obtainability in Grow a Garden. Shocked (100x) and Rainbow (50x) are the trading benchmarks — most high-end trades in the community are denominated in "Shocked crops" or "Rainbow Shocked stacks." Eternal (110x) is rarer than Shocked but approaches S-Tier value. A-Tier mutations stack with each other and with S-Tier mutations: Rainbow × Shocked = 5,000x.
Eternal
Golden shimmer visual. 110x multiplier from Legendary-tier crops during sustained gameplay sessions. Highly sought for trading — value approaches Celestial.
Shocked
Electric blue glow visual. 100x Elemental multiplier. One of the most tradeable mutations — widely recognisable and universally compatible with other Legendary stacks.
Rainbow
Spectrum colour-shift visual. 50x Nature multiplier. Rainbow stacked with Shocked (100x) produces 5,000x — the benchmark for high-end crop trading calculations.
B-Tier Mutations — 20x – 49x
4 mutations in this tier
B-Tier mutations (20x–49x) are Epic-rarity and form the mid-game foundation of strong Grow a Garden strategies. They are obtainable from Epic+ crops without requiring Blood Moon events, making them reliable farming targets. Most B-Tier mutations are stackable — pairing Moonlit (40x) with Shocked (100x) yields a 4,000x combination, approaching A×A efficiency.
Moonlit
Silver moonbeam visual. 40x Epic-tier Cosmic multiplier. Best B-Tier mutation for cost-to-output ratio — easier to obtain than A-Tier while still stacking with Shocked.
Starlit
Constellation dot visual. 35x Cosmic multiplier from Epic crops. Good stacking partner for players who cannot yet obtain A-Tier mutations consistently.
Frozen
Ice-crystal frost visual. 30x Temperature multiplier. Frozen drops during cold weather events. Pairs well with Moonlit for a 1,200x combined without needing Legendary drops.
Gold
Golden metallic sheen visual. 25x Elemental multiplier. Most accessible high-value mutation — drops across all crop tiers. Excellent entry point for new players building stacks.
C-Tier Mutations — 5x – 19x
3 mutations in this tier
C-Tier mutations (5x–19x) are Rare and Uncommon drops available even to new players. While their individual multipliers are modest, Radioactive (15x) is stackable and can boost any higher-tier stack by an additional 15x for free. Note: Glossy and Bloom are non-stackable — use them solo on high base-value crops rather than attempting to combine them.
Radioactive
Green glow visual. 15x Rare-tier Elemental multiplier. Radioactive is the highest C-Tier mutation — still useful when stacked early-game before accessing B-Tier drops.
Glossy
Polished sheen visual. 10x Nature multiplier. Glossy cannot stack with most higher-tier mutations. Best used solo on high base-value crops like Dragonfruit or Starfruit.
Bloom
Flower-petal visual. 5x Common mutation — the most frequently-occurring mutation in Grow a Garden. Bloom is non-stackable but useful for all crop rarities during early sessions.
D-Tier Mutations — Below 5x Multiplier
No confirmed D-Tier mutations in current game version
D-Tier mutations are defined as any mutation with a multiplier below 5x. In the current version of Grow a Garden, no mutations have been confirmed at this tier — the lowest verified multiplier is Bloom at 5x, which sits at the C-Tier floor.
D-Tier exists as a category to future-proof this tier list for new mutations added in game patches. If a sub-5x mutation is confirmed in a future update, it will appear in this section. The D-Tier threshold is maintained for completeness and trade reference — a player offering a "D-Tier mutated crop" would be offering one worth less than 5× its base Sheckle value. Last checked: 2026-03-01. No D-Tier mutations currently in game.

How to Use the Tier List: Stacking Strategy
4-Step Guide to Maximising Mutation Output
- 1
Identify your crop's base rarity
Check your crop's rarity tier (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Divine). Higher rarity crops have higher base Sheckle values and unlock rarer mutation drops. Voidtouched (S-Tier 135x) only drops on Divine+ crops — confirm crop rarity before targeting a mutation tier.
- 2
Choose the right mutation tier for your crop
Match your farming goals to the tier list. For maximum output: target S-Tier (120x+) if you have Divine+ crops and can farm Blood Moon events. Target A-Tier (50–119x) for Legendary crops during regular sessions. Use B-Tier (20–49x) for mid-game Epic crops. C-Tier mutations are always worth collecting to stack on any crop.
- 3
Check stacking compatibility
Before combining two mutations, verify they are stackable. S-Tier and A-Tier Cosmic/Elemental mutations are generally compatible. C-Tier mutations Glossy and Bloom are non-stackable — they cannot be combined with other mutations. Use the reference table on this page to check the Stackable column before attempting a stack.
- 4
Calculate total Sheckle output
Use the formula: Final Value = Base Crop Value × Mutation 1 × Mutation 2 × Weight. Example: Dragonfruit (850 base) with Voidtouched (135x) and Celestial (120x) = 850 × 135 × 120 = 13,770,000 Sheckles (before weight). Use the Grow a Garden Mutation Calculator at gagdata.com/calculators for automatic calculation.
