Grow a Garden Pet Comparison Tool: Compare Two Pets Side by Side

By Jordan Lee ยท Pet Mechanics Specialist ยท Updated

The Grow a Garden pet comparison tool puts two pets side by side. Pick any two of the 359 pets in the GAGdata database and read their rarity, XP per hour, ability, how to get them and trade value range in one table. A missing value shows as PENDING.

What Is the Grow a Garden Pet Comparison Tool?

Grow a Garden is a Roblox farming game. Pets are companions you hatch from eggs. Each pet has a rarity, an ability, an XP rate and a trade value. The comparison tool lines up two pets so you can read those fields next to each other.

It reads the same pet database as the Pet Values page. The database holds 359 entries and was last updated June 22, 2026. This tool compares two pets at a time. It does not rank all pets. For a ranked list, use the Pet Tier List.

Compare Two Grow a Garden Pets

Type in the filter box to narrow the list, then pick a pet in each box. The table updates at once. A name that appears twice, such as Butterfly or Stork, shows its rarity next to the name.

Mimic Octopus lists 4.9% more XP per hour than Manta Ray (850 against 810).

Mimic Octopus has the higher trade value range midpoint, 10.0% above Manta Ray.

Higher means a larger number in the GAGdata pet database. It does not mean a better pet for every goal.

Example: Mimic Octopus vs Manta Ray

Mimic Octopus and Manta Ray are both Rare pets in the database. Mimic Octopus lists 850 XP per hour and Manta Ray lists 810, a gap of 4.9%. The trade value range is 1,870 to 2,530 Sheckles for Mimic Octopus and 1,700 to 2,300 for Manta Ray.

The abilities are Shape Shift (+22%) and Wing Glide (+20%). A higher number is not a verdict. Pick the pet whose ability matches your goal, then use the numbers to break a tie.

How to Compare Two Pets

  1. Pick the first pet. Type part of a pet name in the filter box for Pet A, then choose the pet from the list. The rarity is shown next to each name.
  2. Pick the second pet. Do the same for Pet B. You can compare pets of different rarities.
  3. Read the table. Read rarity, XP per hour, ability, how to get each pet and trade value range. The higher number is marked when both pets have a value.
  4. Check PENDING cells. A PENDING cell means the database has no confirmed value. Do not treat it as zero.
  5. Look up the detail. Open the Pet Values, Hatching Guide or Pet Abilities page for dated values, egg tables and ability detail.

What the Pet Comparison Tool Does Not Cover

The tool compares database fields. It leaves out four things on purpose, and each has its own page.

  • Size tiers. Normal, Huge, Titanic and Godly lines stay out because sources conflict and the unit is not confirmed. The Pet Sizes Guide covers the tiers. To check a size class now, use the Pet Weight Calculator.
  • Hatch chances and eggs. The Hatching Guide lists the egg drop tables.
  • Ranking all pets. The Pet Tier List and Best Pets guide rank pets by use.
  • Full ability detail. The Pet Abilities guide explains what abilities do.

Pet Comparison FAQ

1

How do I compare two pets in Grow a Garden?

To compare two pets in Grow a Garden, open the GAGdata Pet Comparison Tool and choose a pet in each box. Use the filter field to find a name fast. The table shows rarity, XP per hour, ability, how to get each pet and trade value range, and marks the higher number.

2

Is Mimic Octopus better than Manta Ray in Grow a Garden?

Mimic Octopus has the higher numbers in the GAGdata database. It lists 850 XP per hour against 810 for Manta Ray, and a trade value range of 1,870 to 2,530 against 1,700 to 2,300. Both are Rare. Which pet is better depends on the ability you need.

3

What does the Grow a Garden pet comparison tool show?

The Grow a Garden pet comparison tool shows five fields for each pet: rarity, XP per hour, ability, how to obtain it and trade value range. It also marks the higher XP and trade value when both pets have a number. Sizes and hatch chances are not part of the tool.

4

Where does the pet comparison data come from?

The pet comparison data comes from the GAGdata pet database, last updated June 22, 2026. The tool reads the same file as the Pet Values page. Trade value ranges are community market estimates, so treat them as a guide and check Pet Values for dated numbers.

5

Why does a pet show PENDING in the comparison?

A pet shows PENDING when the GAGdata database has no confirmed value for that field. XP per hour is PENDING for 25 pets, and 34 entries have no full trade value range. GAGdata does not fill gaps with guesses. A PENDING cell changes once a value is confirmed.

6

Does the pet comparison tool compare Huge, Titanic and Godly sizes?

The pet comparison tool does not compare Huge, Titanic and Godly sizes. The size lines still conflict between sources, and the unit in the pet database, XP or kilograms, is not confirmed. Use the Pet Weight Calculator to check a size class and the Titanic and Godly guides for tier detail.

7

Can I compare hatch chances for two pets?

The tool does not compare hatch chances. The GAGdata database holds a drop rate for only 22 pets, and the numbers are not on one scale. The Hatching Guide lists the egg drop tables. Find the egg for each pet there, then compare the two pets here.

8

Is a pet with more XP per hour always better?

A pet with more XP per hour is not always better in Grow a Garden. XP per hour tells you how fast a pet levels. Ability and trade value matter for other goals. Compare every row first, then check the Best Pets guide for rankings by use.

9

How many pets can I compare at once?

You can compare two pets at once, picked from 359 entries in the GAGdata pet database. Four names appear twice (Butterfly, Stork, Beaver and Honey Badger), so the list shows rarity next to each name. Change either pet at any time and the table updates at once.
